University Ambassador Events

The University Ambassadors participate in a number of campus and community service events throughout the year. These events are held both on campus and throughout the state of Missouri.

Showcase

Showcase is a campus open-house program for prospective students and their families which takes place in the fall. University Ambassadors are crucial to the success of Showcase by participating in activities such as welcoming and directing visiting families, checking in visitors, participating in student panels, and giving walking and shuttle tours of campus.

Admitted Student Day

Admitted Student Day is a program for admitted students and their families which takes place in the spring. University Ambassadors are crucial to the success of this program by participating in activities such as welcoming and directing visiting families, checking in visitors, participating in student panels, and giving walking and shuttle tours of campus.

Summer Visit Day

Summer Visit Day is an excellent opportunity for prospective students and their families to get a head start on the college search process. Explore the Missouri State campus and residence halls, meet staff and faculty members in areas of interest, engage in real-world academic activities, and more. University Ambassadors participate in activities such as welcoming and directing visiting families, checking in visitors, participating in student panels, and giving walking and shuttle tours of campus.

Springfield-Branson Salute to Legislature

Every year University Ambassadors travel to Jefferson City for the Springfield-Branson Salute to Legislature. Ambassadors help pass out information during the reception and have the chance to interact with members of the Missouri Legislature.

Holiday Happenings

Holiday Happenings is a community service event sponsored by the Ambassadors that is typically held on the first Saturday of December in the Student Union. The Ambassadors invite all faculty and staff to bring their children and grandchildren to the event to celebrate the holiday season. The Ambassadors help the children make crafts, decorate cookies, write letters to Santa, and participate in a candy cane walk. This is such a special event on campus that even Santa makes an appearance and lets the children sit upon his lap!

American Cancer Society Relay for Life

Beginning in 2001, the Missouri State Chapter of the American Cancer Society sponsored a Relay for Life on the Missouri State campus. In the spirit of volunteerism, the University Ambassadors sponsored their very own team. Their spirit showed the true heart of each ambassador. In 2005, the Ambassador Relay for Life team reached the bronze division for the large amount of donations they raised.
