Society for Technical Communication

We have decided to cancel the 2020 STC Faculty Workshop and Student Conference for the safety of our students, faculty and speakers amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

Students who planned on attending the conference for credit will have the opportunity to complete an independent study with Dr. Stanton.

Welcome to the Missouri State Society for Technical Communication Website!

The Society for Technical Communication (STC) is an individual membership organization dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of technical communication. Its 24,000 members include technical writers, editors, graphic designers, multimedia artists, and others whose work involves making technical information understandable and available to those who need it.

The Missouri State Student Chapter of STC serves the needs of technical communication students in Springfield, Missouri. The Missouri State Chapter held its first meeting in March 1993 and now has an equal membership of students and professionals.

Regional Conference

The STC 18th Annual Regional Student Conference will be held at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri on Saturday March 28, 2020. Attend presentations by a variety of speakers in the field as well as from colleges and universities. Please register before conference day. See our Upcoming Events page for more details.

The TPW Faculty Workshop/Professional Development Day will be on Friday March 27, 2020.
