It shall be the duty of the Treasurer to:
Chair the Fund-raising committee.
Appoint a Director of Fund-raising, pending the approval of the Executive Board.
Responsible for developing fund-raising ideas and soliciting donations.
Maintain accurate financial records for the organization.
Coordinate all financial activities, including any tax responsibilities with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Advice the chapter President and the Executive Board of the financial condition of the chapter.
If deemed necessary by the Executive Board, the Treasurer will file any reports for the State Democratic Party or the State Ethics Commission in a timely manner.
Write checks and make deposits as directed by the Executive Board. The treasurer will not have the right to make financial transactions without the approval of the Executive Board.
Currently we do not have a Treasurer. For the Fall Semester of 2006, Miss Laura Doyle served as Treasurer. Unfortunately, Miss Doyle will be leaving for London, England during the Spring Semester of 2007, thus resigning her position. Treasurer Doyle oversaw the fundraising and funds for the trip to the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Library Center in Little Rock, Arkansas that the Missouri State Young Democrats took during the first half of November, 2006. We greatly appreciate her time, dedication, and devotion to our chapter, and wish her the best in her travels.
