Regular Tours

One of the primary missions of the Office of Admissions and the University Ambassadors organization is to provide campus tours for prospective students and their parents.  We recognize this as an integral part of our recruitment effort.  We are pleased to provide such tours and both our staff and the members of the Ambassadors organization take great pride in showing our campus to prospective students and other visitors.

Campus tours are led by University Ambassadors, student volunteers with a variety of backgrounds and interests.  They can tell you about their own Missouri State experiences and answer questions about student life.

Tours leave from the Office of Admissions at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on weekdays throughout the fall and spring semesters and noon over the summer.  We strongly recommend that prospective students visit on a weekday while school is in session, because that's the best time to see campus life in full swing.  However, we understand that it is not always possible for families to arrange weekday visits, so we offer a noon presentation and tour on selected Saturdays during the fall and spring semesters.  Please be advised, however, that other Missouri State offices are closed on Saturdays and faculty appointments are not available.  A full calendar of visits is provided in the request form.

Tours usually last between one-and-a-half and two hours and are mainly walking tours.  The tours include academic buildings, classrooms, residence halls, recreational facilities and other areas of special interest to you.

Special Tours

We are occasionally asked to provide Ambassadors for special tours for visiting groups such as students who are on campus for special programs or visiting high school groups.  We welcome the opportunity to assist with such groups.  The University Ambassadors have an elected Vice President of Special Tours who assits with the scheduling of these tours.

As an alternative to special tours, and with the same level of advance planning and preparation as described herein, the Office of Admissions can generally provide a staff member to give a brief overview of Missouri State and/or give a presentation on planning and preparing for college.
