Description of Duties:

Human Needs
Position: Office Caseworker
Agency: American Red Cross
Purpose of Position: Within established policies and procedures, provides Red Cross service directly or indirectly to disaster victims through the casework process
Description of Duties:
- Provides Red Cross services directly or indirectly to disaster victims by providing emergency casework assistance, home visits, or additional assistance casework
- Uses appropriate resources and referrals to provide Red Cross services
- Maintains effective working relationships with other functional units within the Red Cross as well as external partner agencies
- Operates within appropriate, established fiscal controls, consulting with a supervisor when appropriate
- Process appropriate forms, reports, and records on a timely basis including Disaster Registration, Case Record, and Disbursing Order
- Perform related duties as assigned
- Depending on skills, abilities, interests, and availabilities, the department may provide additional training to work Armed Forces Emergency Service cases

Position: Armed Forces Emergency Service (AFES) Specialist

Purpose of Position: Assures Red Cross response to all inquires regarding the military and/or emergency notification
Description of Duties:
- Insure 24-hour coverage and response for AFES emergency communication
- Assist clients in completing forms to access loans from various military aid societies
- Provide AFES emergency communications, casework, and referral services
- Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate volunteer duty workers
- Ensure that all casework, financial transactions, and training conform to national chapter standards
- Fiscally responsible for all AFES financial transactions
- Participate in appropriate organizations, meetings, and activities promoting Red Cross AFES programs

Position: Landscape Coordinator
Agency: Habitat for Humanity of Springfield, MO Inc.
Purpose of Position: Habitat Springfield is currently creating a Low Impact Development (LID) that incorporates native plants into the common areas and road right-of-ways. The landscape coordinator would work with the Project Horticulturist to design, plant, and maintain those areas as they become available throughout construction. Position may include set-up and maintenance of greenhouse.
Description of Duties:
- Plan and attend monthly Landscape committee meetings
- Help implement and maintain native plantings and structural design for common areas
- Assist with grant proposals
- Help set up greenhouse and start native perennials from seed (possible)

Description of Duties:
- Set up new collections at area businesses, churches, schools, organizations, etc.
- Set up recycling program at Habitat construction site
- Manage the data recording of can pickups and bin hosts
- Maintain contact with all bin hosts to ensure proper management of their collection
- Coordinate volunteers for can pickups and bin dropoffs
- Monitor and order recycling materials (online)
- Report recycling totals each month online
- Solicit media coverage and other publicity for the program
- Plan special events or recycling competitions

Position: Materials Center Manager
Agency: Missouri State University CSD/Speech-Language & Hearing Clinic
Purpose of Position: to the management and organization of therapy resources and test inventory which must be available to our graduate students for the services provided to children and adults at the MSU Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic.
Description of Duties:
- Maintain a well organized therapy aids in Materials Centers to assure items are readily accessible to clinicians for check out
- Maintain adequate supplies of printed handouts for clinicians
- Monitor the Materials Centers check-out therapy items for breakage or lost parts, also report the need to purchase replacement items to clinic assistant
- Assure therapy items and rooms are cleaned, sterilized and ready for use
- Monitor the Test Room inventory of test used for diagnostic purposes; assuring test protocols, test manuals and test prompts are in the proper test boxes and an adequate supply of test protocols, tester manuals and booklets for each test
