The purpose of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management Association (LSCMA) is to assist students in obtaining the additional knowledge necessary to make them more marketable upon graduation. LSCMA achieves this by providing a professional environment that complements a student's formal education by exposing them to additional organizations and professionals throughout the industry as well as serving as an avenue for interaction between faculty members and students.

SPRINGFIELD – A team of five Missouri State University logistics and supply chain management students placed third overall in the third annual Ohio State University Logistics Case Competition on April 4 in Columbus, Ohio.
The team competed against teams from Arkansas State University, University of Arkansas, University of Maryland, Michigan State University and Syracuse University. The Missouri State team was sponsored by Prime, Inc.
“The case was written by Dow Chemical Company and had a strong economic and environmental sustainability component: shipping chemicals from their gulf coast plants throughout the U.S., Canada and some globally,” said Dr. John Kent, professor of logistics and supply chain management at Missouri State and faculty sponsor for the team. “Like many companies in today’s economy, Dow was looking for a supply chain solution that would improve efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint at the same time.”
The following students competed with the logistics team:
Cassie Killian, a senior marketing/management and logistics and supply chain management major from Poplar Bluff, Mo.; Tess Nashed, a senior logistics and supply chain management major from Springfield, Mo.; Matt Keyes, a senior administrative management and logistics and supply chain management major from Branson, Mo.; Nic Brown, a senior business management–entrepreneurship and logistics and supply chain management major from Kearney, Mo.; and Ryan Byrd, a senior logistics and supply chain management major from St. Louis.
