Welcome Party of the Chinese Students

and Scholars Association

¡¡

On September 3, 2007, the Chinese Students and Scholars Association has held a Welcome Party for all the Chinese students and scholars in Springfield at the Phelps Grove Park, beginning from 5:00 pm at a very pleasant evening. Sponsored and supported by the Division of Research and Economic Development, MSU, the party received almost 150 Chinese students and international friends.

Begun with Tami¡¯s thanks to former president Gong Xiao¡¯ou (Sean), the new president of CSSA this year, Yu En qiao(Kevin) made a welcome speech to all the students and friends. He said that this year, the number of Chinese students on campus would expand largely, which gives the CSSA a great challenge to organize activities. However, the CSSA would still try its best to serve and help the Chinese students and faculties at MSU.

The barbeque turned out to be great. Some friends also brought over some Chinese dishes and American food.  We had watermelons for the dessert as the tradition in China. Most of the students enjoyed the food. On the table, people were introducing themselves to each other. Interesting conversation was carried out among different groups. We had quite a few American or international friends who have been to China or have a big interest in Chinese culture. They really enjoyed communicating on various topics.

Finally, a group picture was taken of all the people at the party. Students from Qingdao or Dalian both took separate group pictures. The smile on everyone¡¯s face was like the blooming summer flowers.
