Welcome to Graduate Student Senate! We are here to provide a welcoming environment for graduate students at Missouri State University. Simply by being a graduate student you are already a member of this organization. This year, we hope to make some changes and improvements to graduate student life. We are looking at issues such as health care costs, parking, and extended library hours. To make these changes we need your support! One of the ways to help is come to our monthly meetings. New ideas are always welcome, and if you have any questions or concerns about graduate life, Graduate Student Senate is a great way to get answers. I look forward to meeting new graduate students all the time. Please feel free to e-mail us if you have any questions about our organization and how you can be involved.
P.S. We are currently going through the approval process to get the organization's name changed, as well as other fundamental changes to the organization as a whole. Because of this, you may see Graduate Student Council or Graduate Student Senate on some correspondence. These are the same organization. We will keep students apprised of the status of these changes as they take effect.
Purpose
To enhance communication among graduate students and the Graduate Council, and to promote the general interests of the graduate students. The Graduate Student Senate solicits students' assessment programs and strives to sponsor activities such as forums or seminars that give students an opportunity for self-development.
