Anyone can participate in C.O.P.E. meetings and events.
To become an official C.O.P.E. member:
- Be a Missouri State University student enrolled in at least one counseling course.
- Be interested in or admitted into the counseling department.
- Pay a $5.00 per semester fee.
- As an active member, you are then eligible for SOFAC funding, are able to vote in elections or other various issues, and hold officer positions.
Meetings:
- Meetings are held the first Tuesday and third Wednesday of each month after classes (8:30ish).
- Specific information about the meeting agenda will be forwarded to each counseling student and faculty prior to the meeting.
- Meetings can include general business, community service projects, upcoming conferences, or planning future activities. We may occasionally have a guest speaker. Speakers in the past have been our own COU faculty, graduates that come and speak about life after graduation, and specialists from the community.
