Information
Business and Professional Women/USA, founded in 1919, promotes equity
for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information.
With 30,000 members in more than 1,600 Local Organizations represented
in every congressional district in the country, BPW/USA includes among
its members women and men of every age, race, religion, political
party and socio-economic background.
Now, for the first time in the history of BPW, a chapter is being
founded by college students. The Missouri State BPW will give college women
a chance to network with women from all across the nation. In the
future Missouri State BPW hopes to be a leader in starting college chapters
all across the nation. BPW does not support one career interest
or major, instead it is involved in issues facing women in today's
workplace.
There are also scholarship opportunities available through BPW/USA.
In 1956, BPW members established the BPW Foundation to promote equity
for workingwomen nationwide through education, information and research,
while providing financial assistance for women seeking to further
their education to advance in their careers or to reenter the workforce.
Missouri State BPW will work closely with the women of Greater Ozarks BPW.
GOBPW is the mentor chapter for Missouri State BPW and GOBPW has been instrumental
in getting the student chapter started. Jenny Wolfe and Liz Burris
