Blair-Shannon Hall Council General Assembly Meeting September 18, 2006
I. Call to Order (8:00) - Chris P. II. Attendance – Erik III. Introduction of Gen. Assembly committee w/ ice breaker IV. 32 Minutes – Megan Reams A. Car accident docudrama B. Program should be very fun and EDUCATIONAL C. Handout – Budget Breakdown D. Dan Lepper voted for $250 budget E. The vote was seconded by Dustin West F. Vote was motioned, $250 to 32 Minutes program V. Position Reports A. Administrative Aide – Erik i. Contact list, handouts (t-shirt sizes, birthdays, pizza, etc.) B. Social Programming – Joe i. Explains position and meet with him after meeting for more information C. Academic Programming - Beth i. Explains position and committee involvement D. Historian – Erik i. Gives examples of what will be included in the scrap book ii. Open to ANY ideas from ANY ONE!!!!! E. Publicity – Stephanie i. Bulletin board decorations is discussed ii. If interested in helping with posters for hall, see Stephanie F. Recognition – Anna i. Door decorations for all Exec. Board and Gen. Assembly members G. Homecoming – Brittany i. Homecoming Fest!!!! ii. Homecoming theme – “The Thriller” iii. Blair-Shannon theme – “The Towers of Terror” iv. Decorations, costume contest are discussed v. Halloween in the Halls vi. Print off Homecoming queen and king applications and turn in to Brittany 1. Eligibility – 60 hours and at least 3.0 GPA H. Intramurals – Caryn i. Intramurals sign-up sheets in main lobby ii. Contact Caryn for more information I. Community Service – Chelsea i. “Make A Difference Day” – October 28th ii. Habitat for Humanity iii. Pop tabs are being collected, turn in as many as you can iv. Blood Drive – September 19-21, PLEASE GIVE BLOOD!!! VI. Committee Reports A. RHA – Sabrina i. RHA Meetings – PLEASE ATTEND!!!! ii. NHRA - $900 donation for programs iii. Next meeting’s theme – “The Pep Rally” iv. September 30th – Football game 1. Pack Plaster with A LOT of RHA & residents 2. Prizes will be given out!!! B. SGA – Leslie i. Leslie – introduction ii. Would really love to me SGA representative iii. Amanda votes for Leslie to be representative iv. The vote was seconded by Dustin v. Vote passed, Leslie Schilli is the new SGA Representative C. SAC i. Volunteers for SAC representative ii. Katie Volunteers for SAC representative iii. Vote was seconded by Gabbi iv. Vote passed, Katie is the new SAC representative D. RA Liaisons – Dan & Amanda i. Keep track of attendance ii. Motivate residents on your floor to get involved iii. Remain informed with your RAs of programs that are planned VII. Floor Reports – Floor Presidents A. Shannon 4 i. September 20 – twister tournament, 7:15 p.m. ii. September 21 – Grey’s Anatomy premiere, BS grand lounge, 8 p.m. B. Shannon 7 & 8 i. September 25 – Battle of the Sexes, 7 p.m. C. Blair 8 i. September 20 – Volleyball tournament VIII. Reports A. Teresa – Residence Hall Judicial Board i. If interested, contact Teresa A.S.A.P. B. Kevin – “Big Bash” for Blair-Shannon Residents i. If any ideas, let Kevin know C. Sabrina – Five Paw Seal of Approval at end of the year i. Do our best to make Blair-Shannon look as wonderful as possible D. Chris P. - Budget i. No budget ii. Looking at around roughly $1,500 iii. RHA – looking for 14 people to commit to go to RHA meetings EVERY week iv. Nikki Tim - Explains RHA meetings and themes of every meeting v. Previous Monday Theme – “Pirate Day” vi. These people volunteered to attend meetings 1. Brooke Davis, Sam Goehri, Staci Gray, Chris Rothgeb, Lea Huffman, Chelsea Crow, Anna Barks, Erik Stefancik IX. Old Business A. Beer Pong i. September 28th, 9:00 – 10:30 p.m. ii. Amanda – explains program iii. Alcoholic Educational program iv. Giveaways will be given out v. Request for $150 budget vi. Kevin – motion on vote for $150 budget vii. Vote seconded by Dustin West viii. Vote passed, $150 given for Root Beer Pong B. 32 Minutes i. Chris - $400 budget passed last year ii. Amanda – No pressure to make that high of a budget this year iii. Dan – motions for $250 budget for program iv. Vote seconded by Dustin v. Vote passed, $250 budget for 32 Minutes X. New Business A. Committee’s are broken up into groups B. Committees discuss basic expectations from General Assembly members XI. Adjournment at 9:15 p.m.
