Last year we raised over $108,000 through this event where participants hope to continue their contributions through a letter writing campaign to raise awareness for St. Jude Children’s Hospital
- Donations collected for the children play a vital role in the amount that the patients have to pay.
- The bill for the treatment only reflects the cost that patient’s insurance covers and individuals without insurance aren’t asked to pay anything.
- Transportation and living costs are also covered by St. Jude Children’s Hospital
- Students are not asked to contribute money to the charity, but they are being asked to share contact information of prospective donors!!
What you need to bring:
- 50 names and addresses of people that you know (phonebooks are not allowed)
- Address Labels (optional but recommended) preprinted out the 50 names and addresses
(You can print off your address labels as well for the return part of the letter.)
- Your Team
- A cheerful smile & A little bit of your time
- A willingness to save children.
What Not to Bring:
- A Phonebook for addresses and names
- Stamps (they will be provided)
- A pillow (we are not really staying Up ‘til Dawn)
(Remember the letters are prewritten, so all you have to fill out is the senders’ name, address, your name, your address)
Although the meetings will last Six hours, students aren't being asked to stay for the entire duration of the meeting. Although, there are children from the Springfield area that have been through treatments at St. Judes. It's going to be a great chance for you to come help out.
